A flag hoisting ceremony was held at the Embassy of Pakistan, Brussels to commemorate the National Day of Pakistan, today. Ambassador of Pakistan to the European Union, Belgium and Luxembourg Zaheer A. Janjua hoisted the national flag at the Chancery building.
The messages of the President Dr. Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan were read out on the occasion. The President and Prime Minister of Pakistan in their respective messages congratulated the nation and paid tributes to the dynamic and visionary leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Muhammad Iqbal. They reaffirmed their commitment to make tireless efforts to realize the vision of the founding fathers to make Pakistan a social welfare state on the model of Riyasat-e-Madina.
In his special message on the occasion, Ambassador Janjua paid homage to the historic struggle of the Muslims of the Sub-Continent for an independent homeland, where they could live their lives with complete religious, cultural and social freedoms. He stressed the importance of the vision of Poet-Philosopher, Allama Muhammad Iqbal and ideals of Quaid-e-Azam, Mohammad Ali Jinnah, who envisaged Pakistan to be a progressive, moderate and democratic country.
The Ambassador emphasized that Pakistan will celebrate the 75th anniversary of independence this year, which implies that the nation has been able to protect the freedom and sovereignty by overcoming all the challenges with collective effort and perseverance.
Appreciating the important role of overseas Pakistanis in the development of Pakistan, Ambassador Janjua highlighted the steps taken by the government to address their issues. He encouraged the Pakistani diaspora in Belgium and Luxembourg to continue to play their role in the development and prosperity of Pakistan.
The Ambassador termed the convening of 48th session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers in Pakistan, as an important diplomatic achievement for the country. He underscored that the Foreign Ministers of the Islamic countries deliberated on the challenges being faced by the Muslim world including Kashmir, Palestine, and Afghanistan.
The Ambassador also reiterated Pakistan’s resolve to extend all possible political, diplomatic and moral support to the Kashmiri brethren in their just struggle for the UN guaranteed right to self-determination.
Community members from different cities of Belgium including Brussels, Ghent, Liege and Leuven as well as Luxembourg participated in the event with full fervour.

آج یومِ پاکستان کے تناظر میں سفارتخانہ پاکستان برسلز میں پرچم کشائی کی تقریب کا انعقاد کیا گیا۔ یوروپی یونین ، بیلجیئم اور لکسمبرگ میں پاکستان کے سفیر ظہیر اے جنجوعہ نے قومی پرچم لہرایا۔
اس موقع پر صدر ڈاکٹر عارف علوی اور وزیر اعظم عمران خان کے پیغامات پڑھ کر سنائے گئے۔ صدر مملکت اور وزیر اعظم پاکستان نے اپنے اپنے پیغامات میں قوم کو مبارکباد پیش کی اور قائد اعظم محمد علی جناح اور علامہ محمد اقبال کی قیادت کو خراج تحسین پیش کیا۔ انہوں نے پاکستان کو ریاستِ مدینہ کی طرز پر سماجی فلاحی ریاست بنانے کے عزم کا اعادہ کیا
اپنے پیغام میں ، سفیرِ پاکستان ظہیر جنجوعہ نے برصغیر کے مسلمانوں کی ایک آزاد وطن کے لئے تاریخی جدوجہد کو خراج عقیدت پیش کیا ، جہاں وہ پوری مذہبی ، ثقافتی اور معاشرتی آزادیوں کے ساتھ اپنی زندگی گزار سکتے ہیں۔ انہوں نے شاعر فلسفی ، علامہ محمد اقبال اور قائد اعظم محمد علی جناح کے نظریات اور وژن کی اہمیت پر زور دیا ، جنہوں نے پاکستان کو ایک ترقی پسند ، اعتدال پسند اور جمہوری ملک ہونے کا تصور دیا۔
سفیرِ پاکستان نے مزید کہاکہ اس برس ہم اپنی آزادی کی 75 ویں سالگرہ منائیں گے۔ جو اس امر کی غمازی کرتا ہے کہ قوم تمام مشکلات پر اجتماعی کوششوں اور استقامت سے قابو پاتے ہوئے اپنے وطن عزیز کی آزادی اور خودمختاری کا تحفظ کرنے میں کامیاب رہی ہے۔
پاکستان کی ترقی میں بیرون ملک مقیم پاکستانیوں کے کردار کی تعریف کرتے ہوئے سفیر ِ پاکستان نے حکومت کی طرف سے ان کے مسائل حل کرنے کے لئے اٹھائے گئے اقدامات پر روشنی ڈالی۔ انہوں نے بیلجیم اور لکسمبرگ میں مقیم پاکستانی کمیونٹی کی حوصلہ افزائی کرتے ہوئے انہیں پاکستان کی ترقی اور خوشحالی میں اپنا کردار ادا کرتے رہنے کی تلقین کی۔
سفیر ِ پاکستان نے اس عزم کا اعادہ کیا کہ کشمیری بھائیوں کی اقوام متحدہ کی ضمانت کی منصفانہ جدوجہد میں ان کی ہر ممکن سیاسی، سفارتی اور اخلاقی حمایت کی جائے ۔
آرگنائزیشن آف اسلامی کوآپریشن(او آئی سی) کے 48 ویں اجلاس کے پاکستان میں انعقاد کے حوالے سے سفیر پاکستان نے کہا کہ اس اجلاس میں اسلامی ممالک کے وزرائے خارجہ نے امت مسلمہ کو درپیش انتہائی اہم مسائل بشمول مسئلہ کشمیر، فلسطین اور افغانستان سمیت دیگر امور پر اجتماعی لائحہ عمل طے کیا۔ اس اجلاس کی اہمیت کی ایک اور وجہ یہ بھی ہے کہ تاریخ میں پہلی بار چینی وزیر خارجہ وانگ یی نے او آئی سی کےاجلاس میں شرکت کی، جو چین کے مسلم امہ سے تعلقات میں وسعت کے حوالے سے انتہائی اہم قدم ہونے کے ساتھ ساتھ پاکستان کے لئے ایک انتہائی اہم سفارتی کامیابی ہے۔
بیلجیئم کے مختلف شہروں بشمول برسلز، گینٹ، لیج اور لیوین کے ساتھ ساتھ لکسمبرگ سے کمیونٹی ممبران نے پورے جوش و خروش کے ساتھ اس تقریب میں شرکت کی۔
